Credentials: Try and make sure that the designer or company that you want to work with has a formal qualification in web design. This will let you know that not only are they qualified but they are serious about what they do.

Experience: Check and see how long the company or individual has been in the business. Take a look at some of their other work and see if it’s professional. If the sites they’ve designed look professional and are easy to navigate you’ve probably got a pretty good choice.

Testimonials: Knowing how past clients were treated will probably give you a good indicator of how well you’ll be treated. You can always contact these people to find out more information about the work they received.
